Boring

I hate the Pistons. I watched a good chunk of the game tonight. In typical Piston fashion they fall behind early and spend the rest of the game catching up. They were down in the teens for a while, would get it to 4 or 6 then it'd go right back up to 10. I have seen them play that exact same game 100 times over the past few years. It's clear that the Pistons were better than the Pacers, they just have something missing. I don't know what it is, but it's exactly what you need to win, so that sucks for them.

The Pistons are too dependent on Rip and Chauncey, if those guys are off, forget about it. The thing about jump shoots, aside from Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, is that they are really streaky. The good ones will create layups and go to the line for some easy points when their stroke is off. The lines on Rip and Chauncey from tonight: Rip, 6-19 from the floor, only 6 free thrown attempts. Chauncey, 5-13 but he did manage to get to the line. The main story there is that the teams top two scorers shot about 33%, not gonna get it done.

There are just so many other interesting subplots in the NBA that I care about way more than I care about the 06-07 Pistons. I like checking the box scores to see how rookies are doing. The Warriors are scoring 107 ppg. Deron Williams can actually play. Tons of rebuilding projects around the league that appear to be moving forward, Portland, Atlanta, Toronto. Iverson is on the block.

Again, time to shake things up in Detroit.
