I am totally in agreement with you, Blake. I can't stand watching the Pistons. Here is what I have a problem with:
(1) No Star Power. The Pistons don't have a single player that makes me want to watch them. Last night I watched the Magic play the Bobcats just to watch Dwight Howard. I try to watch Ohio State basketball just for Greg Oden. The only player on the Pistons I have any interest in is Amir Johnson, and he never gets off the bench.
(2) No Youth. I want to see some up and coming players develop. We have guys like Amir Johnson and that guy from Pepperdine, but they never play. I would much rather watch Will Blalock play point than Billups.
(3) The Darko Fiasco. I am finally starting to get mad at the whole situation. We could have had Bosh, Wade, or Carmelo. Instead, we draft some Serbian loser, don't play him for 3 years, then trade him away (along with one of the only Pistons I liked, Carlos Arroyo) for what is going to be a late first round pick. Bravo, Joe Dumars; bravo!
(4) Flip Saunders. I don't care if he is an alleged good NBA coach. I wish we had Don Nelson. I don't know if the Pistons could win with him, but he sure as heck would make the team entertaining.
There are a whole host of other things that I don't like about the Pistons, and the NBA in general, but I don't feel like going on an on seeing as Blake already covered the topic pretty well. I will leave it at this: I want Ron Artest on the Pistons and I want him right now!
