Hello. I am Cousin Rob. I was fortunate enough to have a great conversation with Blake on Easter about how great the Yankees really are.
As this is my first post on this glorious blog, I'd better make it exciting.
I love the Yankees. Everything about them. And, unlike Blake, I am a fan. Of course, there are things that they do that I disagree with (read, "I could do Brian Cashmen's job with my eyes closed") but I do love the Yanks.
The history.
The pinstripes.
The payroll.
The press.
Everything that was already cited. But I love them for it. Do I have some great connection to New York? No. For all of you who say that I should be a Tigers fan, why? Because I live here? Because I live in the state the my parents (and yours) choose to live? Hopefully, there are a few non-conformists out there that are reading this who can agree. If not, then refute me. I look forward to blogging with all of you.

Non-conformist Yankee fan? That is a funny and completely foreign term to me.
No need to be a Tigers fan just because you're from Michigan, after all the players are from all over the country and world but the Yankees? Come on Rob. You might as well cheer from Man U, the Soviet hockey team, and cancer.
And if you are going to go there, your strongest argument should be Jeter growing up in Michigan (he went to the high school in Kzoo that was in my elementary school's district). Any way,
Alright Fry, listen up:
You are right, in 1980 when the US swatted the Russians from hockey's streak of perfection, I shed a tear.
That was a joke.
Jeter is from Kzoo and so is my wife. How is that for connection? Also, let it be known on this website and for all the world to see that the Yankees employee probably the most UNDERpaid player in Robinson Cano, 490k a year....3rd in the AL batting race last year and Gammons cited him as a favorite to take that crown this year.
I don't care what the Yankees payroll is their starting pitching is awful. A-rod will look great in April and choke in October, if they even make the playoffs. They have brought up a young pitcher they didn't want to because of injuries. They Yankees may be in trouble this year.
Stiles loves the teams with big payrolls....Favorite teams; Redskins, Yankees, Red Wings (all the highest payrolls in their sports).
